People around the world are paying their respects to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

She died Friday, September 18, due to complications from pancreatic cancer. She was 87.

Ginsburg was the oldest Supreme Court justice and the second woman to serve on the court. She was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1993 and in recent years was the senior member of the court's liberal wing.
